This is what summer is meant to feel like!  Around our area, summer temps are mild, with cool evenings.  Humidity is low, and the sun shines almost every day.  Classy Cabins AZ’s accommodations are at 7000 feet of elevation, therefore you’ll have cool mountain air followed by bright stars and cool nights.  Furthermore, most people think Arizona is hot, but in the summer, the cooler places to live in Arizona are right where we put our cabins.

There are all kinds of fun outdoor things to do in Northern Arizona for couples, for families, and for friends.  If you an outdoors kind of person, the summer is the perfect time to hike the trails and forest roads, or take your mountain bike or quads, or dirt bike.  The managed fishing lakes are perfect for family fishing fun.  There are great places to golf in the mountains, and it seems like the thinner air at elevation gives you that extra yardage off the tee.    You are only 15 minutes from the Tee at Elephant Rocks in Williams.

Northern Arizona has an amazing set of historical monuments, museums, and cultural wonders.  Points of interest in Northern Arizona include historical wonders like the Wupatki National Monument, the Pioneer Museum, Riordan Mansion State Historic Park, The Museum of Northern Arizona, and historic Route 66 – a blast from the past you can visit in Williams, AZ. So, if you are a history buff, you won’t run out of great places to visit.

Reason Number 4

If you like wildlife, Northern Arizona attractions can be spectacular.  You only have to take a quiet hike, or a back road to catch glimpses of deer, antelope, elk, even the occasional bear or large cat.  Bright Bluebirds, which are rare in most places, thrive at higher elevations where sparrows aren’t as common.  What’s more, smaller creatures like Raccoon, squirrel and many kinds of lizard are also common sightings.  But you don’t have to go find them yourself – within 5 minutes of Classy Cabins AZ you will find one of the largest petting zoos in the world, the Grand Canyon Deer Farm.  Home to dozens of deer you can pet and feed, plus a couple of dozen other smaller and larger kinds of animals, this place is great fun for everyone, young and old.  Then, 5 more minutes down the road you can visit Bearizona. This wild animal park and zoo is a must see when visiting Northern Arizona.

Visiting Northern Arizona in the summer gives you the chance to vacation in a great concentration of natural wonders.  The most famous of natural wonders, The Grand Canyon** is accessible less than an hour from Classy Cabins AZ – a short drive north.  Just a bit to the East, is the great Meteor Crater – while the crater itself is truly awe inspiring, it also has a good museum and visitor’s center.  Not far from your vacation home are the Ice Caves – a lava tube you can hike into that’s cool all year round.  A short and very scenic drive to the south brings you to the Red Rock Country of Sedona.  Just Northeast of Flagstaff is Grand Falls – taller than Niagra falls.

Reason Number 6

The people and the towns!  Williams is poignant reminder of simpler days and smaller towns. Window shop along old Route 66, listen to the train whistle as the Grand Canyon Railway leaves or returns. Get home cooking at the many restaurants in town, and visit the Route 66 Zipline or the old west town.  All just 10 minutes away from Classy Cabins AZ.  You’ll see why everybody is proud of their town and its history, and happy to show it to you.

Go 20 minutes the other way down I-40, and visit the mountain college town of Flagstaff.  It’s home to a variety of fun shopping, interesting cultural and excellent dining experiences. The town square is surrounded by ultra-cool shops and restaurants. At the West end of town is the Lowell Observatory, where Pluto was discovered.  It’s home to Northern Arizona University, and gets a great funky vibe from that.  Everybody is laid-back and friendly.
