Property Details
Spacious and Woodsy, its the atmosphere of New Orleans in Northern Arizona, creating the perfect place to unwind. Cozy, Woody, Forested 3 Bed, 2 Bath Cottage home with room for family and friends. Close to Grand Canyon, Williams & Flagstaff.
We are bringing a bit of New Orleans to the forest. The Cajun Cottage is a combination of rustic and modern with some New Orleans sprinkled in. One of the great things here at the cottage is the view of the national forest and if you're lucky you might catch a glimpse of some wildlife roaming around. We are 15 minutes to Williams, 25 minutes to Flagstaff and just an hour away from The Grand Canyon. In this large cabin up to ten people can find a home away from home .
Rooms and beds: The home includes a master suite with a king bed with flat screen tv, a loft with a queen bed, futon pull out and a flat screen tv. Downstairs there is also a daybed with two twins and an additional queen sized air mattress if needed. The fully equipped kitchen includes a breakfast bar with place settings for up to eight, an electric stove with a smooth top and all the cooking necessities you will need. The living room has a sectional couch, a 65" TV with a sound-bar and an electric fireplace. In addition the cottage has an oversized front patio with a firepit and seating, wifi & dish satellite, books/games, extra pillows & blankets and a fully fenced in yard. Please keep in mind that pets are not permitted.
The large deck and barbecue are perfect for dinners after hiking or quadding. If you just want to relax, sit in front of the grand natural stone fireplace, and gaze out the floor to ceiling picture windows at the trees and wildlife.
Backing up to national forest, this is a "get away from it all" place to stay.
The Cajun Cottage is near the Grand Canyon, hiking, skiing, the Oak Hill Snowplay Area, fishing, biking, quadding, and a variety of family activities, including the Deer Farm, a great children's petting zoo. The location is perfect. It is just ten minutes from Route 66 in historic downtown Williams, Arizona, and the Grand Canyon Railway where children, and the young at heart, can take a ride on the Polar Express during the Holidays, or take the historic train to the Grand Canyon.
The house layout makes the standard description of bedding a little confusing. To make it clearer there are:
---Downstairs:
Queen Futon
Queen Blow up available ( in pantry) if needed
Day bed with 2 twin beds – downstairs bedroom
---Upstairs:
Loft bedroom: Queen Bed
Loft area: 2 big twin mattresses are stacked on top of each other so they can be moved where ever they need them upstairs for use
Master Bedroom: King Bed

Great location in between Flagstaff and Williams. Plenty of room for 10 of us! It was so beautiful to wake up to a fresh layer of snow. Steve was very quick to respond to my messages. Loved all the automatic lights around the cabin, helped with visibility at night. Our bedding was nice and warm and there were ample blankets provided. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you!
Very cozy cabin in the woods, not hard to find, close enough to Williams but still private.
The cabin had everything you would need for a weekend away. The kitchen had all the cooking equipment and utensils you would needs, lots of games to play, as well as TV, and internet access. The view was beautiful and had a great patio. Steve was very responsive to our questions and was wonderful to work with. The upstairs can get cold in the evenings (we stayed in the winter), although there were lots of blankets to keep you warm.
Close to Williams and Attraction. Easy to Find. Beautiful Location. The cabin was gorgeous and decorated for Christmas. Warm and cozy. Their kitchen was Nice and stocked. Enough places for everyone to sleep. The deck was amazing.
The only thing that should have been mention that I did not see was once we got there we were asked to take no longer than 3 minute showers to preserve water because they had their own water tank. Which we did but it would have been nice to know before.
The cabin was straighten out but not clean. The stove top was super greasy. The bathroom had hair on the floor, on the shower floor and outside rim. Alot of it too.
The queen size bed and single bed had all kinds of hair in the sheets and dirt and some kind of stickers. One of the pillow cases and black stuff on it, I dusted it all off. They didn’t looked washed at all. And the down stairs bathroom towels smelled bad. Then there was a bad smell the last few days of there septic coming from the bathrooms.
A nice place thank you.
Great cabin and beds are very comfortable. Pictures accurately represent the nice decor and adequate cooking equipment.
Clean and cozy. Good time in the woods
Great place
Convenient location between Grand Canyon and Sedona. Place has a cistern limiting water but rental listing did not mention this. We in the Northeast aren’t used to water shortages and repercussions. Cleaning fee unfortunately wasn’t as well spent as we would have liked. However, overall still a Good rating.
The winter weather was perfect for snow fun with the family (including dogs)!!! We all got to play outside in the snow, and we made dinner together in their great kitchen! Lots of room for family to sleep and very cozy. They provided such a beautiful home.
Cool little home, but it has its issues. TV is outdated, internet was too slow for work, mattresses were sagging in the middle, and the sponge was inside the trash can underneath the bag (the host notified me after I checked out.) I asked the host for a sponge and they didn’t bring it by until the next day (I only booked 2 nights). The check in instructions were not very clear. It says to go through the front door on the left side and use the code provided. The code worked, but the deadbolt was locked so I couldn’t get in. It took me a few minutes to realize there was a back door that works with the same code.
Be careful if you use any of the spices or oil in the kitchen. There’s a note somewhere that says anything that was used must be replaced or you will be charged… luckily my group was camping, so we had our own oil and spices.
Great location for Polar Express! The kids enjoyed the playset in the back. Would stay again!
The cabin is in a beautiful forest. It had all the amenities to give it the comforts of home. We used the kitchen to make breakfast and the grill to make dinner. It’s Located within a short drive to the Grand Canyon. The heater and fireplace kept the inside cozy and there was plenty of hot water. My son loved playing outside, the dog did too!
As advertised, the cabin was in great shape. Would stay there again!
We had a great time looking through the oversized windows enjoying the sunsets and sunrises. It was very quiet at night and the train was a delight to hear. The beds and linens were extremely comfortable and cozy. There was ample supply of paper towels and toilet tissue which was greatly appreciated. We had one issue and Steve replied and took care of the issue promptly. He is a great communicator!
When you pull up, the cabin is just as beautiful, as pictured, and feels like a fairytale. The space is cozy, but adequate. We were traveling with three adults, two children, and a small dog. The space never felt too confined, but the lack of storage space would be more of an issue if we staying longer. The rulebook mentions that water is held in a tank and delivered, so we paid a lot of attention to our water usage (which takes a little of the relaxation out of the vacation). The house has a pack and play and a gate for the stairs, which was very helpful for our little one. The gate was a complete surprise. The pack and play was expected, although when we couldn't find it, Steve implied we would just not have one if someone else took it, which was very concerning. The closets were very full already and the contents send to just be shoved in haphazardly, and we didn't know if they were clean out dirty, so we just didn't use the closets. We didn't get as much use our of the swingset as I hoped since there was a terrible amount of mosquitoes. For example, when bringing our dog out in the morning, if you didn't sorry yourself with repellent, you have multiple mosquitoes in every limb within a few minutes, no exaggeration. The wifi was better than expected with the ability to stream video on multiple devices simultaneously. It is satellite though, so that might not always be the case. We had no cell phone reception though, so be prepared for that and make sure you can get calls and texts over WiFi if you expect to use your phone. Get comfortable with the drive to Williams, as you will go there for groceries, dining, and maybe some shopping. It's a cute little stop, but everything send to be closed by 9pm. Also, driving back to the cabin after 9pm is dark and winding, so be careful and watch for animals. The amenities in the house were great, and or stay was pleasant. apparently there are only 2 hot weeks per year, so A/C isn't necessary. We got one of those hot weeks with temperatures in the 90 range. It is a bit tricky to keep the house comfortable during the day, but it does cool down nicely at night. The South Rim of the Grand Canyon is a little over an hour away. Great access if you want to go hiking or of you just want to drive the Dessert View route to the East. If you have kids, be sure to visit the deer farm to support the locals, but be warned that the deer are not shy if you have food for them. Bearizona is a must see if you have kids. We saved this for the last activity of our vacation, and it was worth the wait. The walk through zoo is small, but very fun and it was a favorite stop for everyone. Overall there were small issues with the cabin, especially for the price, but it was a fun experience that we enjoyed.
Great place! Very clean and well-kept.
We had a nice stay! Short but sweet!
Raccoon Ranch was a wonderful home base for our trip to Arizona! It’s very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. The location is great and the playground was a bonus for our 5 year old! Definitely recommend it.
Amazing location, love the Cabin. We Love it !!
